Kenny Hills Coffee - Cotardo
The definition of Cotardo that I found on the web is as follows:
The cortado coffee-to-milk ratio is 1:1, whereas the flat white has a much larger coffee-to-milk ratio of 1:3 part espresso and 2:3 parts milk.
The difference in the amount of milk makes the cortado much stronger in taste than that of its counterpart, the flat white.
Haven’t tried it before, but since I’m nearby to this shop, and while browsing the menu, I noticed this on the menu among the usual espresso, americano, flat white, latte yada yada and figured, why not?
Asked the barista whats the difference, and she mentioned that it is a lesser milk amount used compared to lattes. As recently I’m not in the mood of full cup coffee, hence “COTARDO, I CHOOSE YOU!!”
The coffee is served in a typical latte sized cup, but noticeably lesser amount than a usual latte, with maybe a 1/4 of the height is knocked off.
For the taste, I actually kinda unable to recall the details of it, as was fully engrossed in the conversation. However I somewhat remember that hmm, the espresso base does hit harder than the usual latte or flat whites, and the milk still manages to suppress it and makes it a creamy and silky coffee, which I find the texture quite enjoyable. I think there is still layers of milk foam as thats how the latte art presented, but I’m kind of liking the ratio of milk to coffee.
For the portion, it lasted me one hour and half, so I think the portion size suits me. It costs RM13.
